My wife and I both have berreta 92pistols. We want to get into match shooting at a local club we have yet to join. Without looking completely dimwitted I would like some info on, holsters, ammo, etiquet, and just plain goin out there the first shoot and kick'n their butts on the paper. Is there any videos, books or good ol advice out there for us. We are well qualified with our pistols and just want to have some fun. Tom

I suggest that you first go to a match and watch.

DITTO THE ABOVE, TALK TO THE PEOPLE THERE, ASK QUESTIONS, WATCH. DUMB QUESTIONS ARE LOTS EASYER TO HANDLE THAN DUMB MISTAKES.

There really aren't any stupid questions. I started doing 3 gun matches a couple of months ago and as a newbie myself, here are some things you might consider asking about:
    - Do you have to join the club to participate?
    - What is the cost of doing the matches?
    - What do you have to do to qualify to participate (for example, all new people have to go through a day long safety course to compete where I shoot)?
    - How often are the matches?
    - What type of competitive matches does the range sponsor? (Most likely it will be IPSC, but there might be other things you'll be interested in too)

And as others have mentioned, you definitely should go out and watch a match first. Good luck, be safe and have fun!

My experience is the regulars at these matches enjoy answering questions and helping new people. Go to a match, watch and ask questions they will be glad to help
