marlin 41 mag lever action

When did marlin start putting the safety in the receiver, and when did they make the 41 magnum in 1894 model. Also, how many were made and what is one worth like new condition. thanks, davek@sisqtel.net

    The Model 1894S 41 mag was discontinued in 1991, The Blue Book lists a 100% condition rifle at $382, but let me tell you that a rifle in 80% condition may go for twice that, collecters are paying a premium for these guns, there is also a cowboy version 41 mag that has an octagon barrel that goes for just over $600 too. I think Marlin went to the crossbolt safety in 1982 or 1983. If you have a 1894S and sell it at auction, you can expect to sell it for between $600-$800, good luck...
