Adjustable objective or not?

I just purchased a Les Bear Super Match and am shopping for my first scope. Mostly shooting paper and possible a varmint shoot. I don't want to go cheap either. My question is hi-power scopes now have and option of an AO. Is this something I should consider or most I see are parralex free @ 100. I had been looking at an illuminated Nikon Monarch or Gold series with a 30mm tube. Any info will help me.

You would probably make your search a lot easier by going to some of the sniper sites out there because they spend a whole bunch of time talking scopes!
I use a Kahles fixed power scope because the more adjustment factors I put into the equation the more chance of throwing the shot off. The closer you dial in the objective the harder to hold firm on target. Reticle choice should please you...lit or unlit...I'd make sure I was MOST satisfied with the brightness, light gathering ability of the scope........that'll be 2-cents please!!

The AO is used to focus the target on the crosshair.
When BOTH are in focus on the crosshair, the scope is paralax free.
With a fixed objective, what the factory sets it to is your only choice.
Is it worth more $$, that's up to you and what your trying to accomplish. IMHO, For 150yd and under work, it's probably not worth it, for 300+yd work it's definat must have.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.
