I am in the market for a new rifle. A semi-auto, bigger than a .223 and able to house hi-cap mags. (Must be able to mount a scope) Not ready to spend then money on a HK 91 but have found these clones: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17523815
anybody have any experience with them? Any opinions on some good, acurrate, long range rifles. Also can someone please inform me on the legalities of a post-ban rifle. What is allowed? What isn't?

Thanks guys.

Maybe you'd be a candidate for an AK or if you want something a little more powerful a CETME.

the g3 is a good gun, its made in germany, the cetme is the same gun as the g3, but made in spain and about $100.00 cheaper. i personaly like both equaly(same gun). you might go to the auction and check it out, also the cetme comes with wood or synthetic were as the g3 only comes with synthetic.

it's not the type of gun you have in the heat of a battle that counts, only if you have enough ammo for it, lets face it, a gun without ammo is only as good as a base ball bat!!

What about the "Right Arm of the Free World"?, the FN/FAL series? There are a lot of companies out there refurbing them to various degrees and making them all neat and tidy (re: legal) for the civilian market? All I've shot in the last few years weere very god quality and seem to be reasonably priced. Keep in mind also that there have been some complaints about the CETME rifles and they are not only a triffle inferior to the G3 but also much cheaper than the German guns; something like $300 to $400 less actuallly! Try www.DSArms.com out of Barrington Illinois for one, they have nice quality rifles and offer some really neat aftermarket stuff as well!
