.17 Mach 2 Rimfire

Anyone who attempts to try and shoot .17 rimfire ammo out of a gun with a .22 rimfire barrel is absolutly crazy. The chances of that projectile hitting the side of the barrel are high. And when that happens, you just ruined a .22 barrel, and possibly injured or killed yourself. To clear up the cloudy issue of the new round.....the .17 HMR is .22 WRM case that has been necked down to 17 caliber. The .17 MAch 2 rimfire is a .22LR case that has been necked down to .17 caliber. This only means that the actions on the .22 firearms will operate with that cartridge. If a barrel is not stamped with the proper caliber of the ammunition you are trying to shoot, do not use it!!!!!!!!!!
