    Hello trukr,
Per Brophy, your serial number does not exist[:D]
Serial numbers of the side-loading Model 1891 were between 47,889
and 77,943 but this is not exact as Marlin mixed models and did not have a seperate block of numbers but Brophy suggests that 5,000
side-loaders were manufactured. The .22 was manufactured between serial numbers 46,799 and 74,792. This is approximate. Apparently
factory letters exist for the 1891 and only a Cody letter will confirm
the shipping date. Perhaps another will have better information for you. Best of luck, 101

101st thanx for the reply. It is strange, to say the least. Blue Book says 18,650 bilt, ser # range 37,500-118000.Since the side-loaders were bilt first it would make sense (to me) that they wood B the lowest ser #'s, but who knows? This is a tube loader, so if 5000 side-ldrs were madeY arnt they the lowest ser 3/ Of course Marlin ran the 32 cals at the same time, I gess with the #'s interchanged at will.
    Quien sabe?
Rufe, thanx for the web-site ever lil bit helps. Since this iron is 95% with a decent bore and $400 I think I will buy it.
Oh yeah, even this broken down dubble-clutcher nose that ain't no dam Marlin!!![8D]
