A friend suggested I ask the pros so here goes:
Ser. # 883xxx
RIA over flaming bomb at top of barrel
2-19 below flaming bomb
U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1903 on the reciever
Very nice Parkerized finish on the metal.
Stock has the following markings:
224 stamped on the top of the handguard, forward of the rear sight.
Just above the triggerguard are two stampings, both enclosed in boxes. First one reads W.J.S. and the second is S.A. over S.P.G.
Any information greatly appreciated.

have a 1903, made at Springfield Armory, serial 411xxx, (411K.
Beautiful rifle, all original. Any idea as to value?
Thanks.
PS: even has the cleaning kit in the butt.
If you need more pictures I can send them to you. I also wanted to mention that it looks like someone taped the barrel for some kind of scope.
Thanks for the advice
It would be impossible for anyone to answer your request without
a hundred questions on origanilty. You could start with strong precentage of original finish, barrel date, bore condition, cartouches,...............................You need to state everything
about this Springield and then one of the responders will give you a
figure that you may or may not like. Best of luck, 101
Following up 101 ... I'll give you values that will cover both ends. $250 which will make you unhappy and $1500 which should make you happy. Now, as you provide more info I and others will do our best to make the bottom number get closer to the upper[:D]
Also, you can do searces on GB for closed auctions say over the past couple months, and for those where an actual sale resulted note the particulars of the rifle sold and the price. Then for those that best match your rifle average those selling prices and you've got a rough market figure.
Remember, the medium we work in here is a tough one as we only have the information, including pictures, that the requestor provides to us. So help us to help you.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
