Hello, Does anyone know if it is legal to buy a foreign handgun? It says beretta Iraqi on the side, but I don't want to be illegal in owning what I shouldn't have. Any help is appreciated, thanks,

John

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

    There shouldn't be a problem.

This is likely a copy that Iraq mfg.under license and called the Tariq.

NRA just had a piece on the "Handguns of Operation Iraqi Freedom" In the April issue of American Rifleman. I didn't care for the lead photo for the article as the Capt. with the double *, finger on triggers, grip could be a "poster boy" for the anti-gun movement, as well as sending a very bad message about the weapons handling practices of our military. And yes, it is probably a staged picture, but heck that makes it even worse!

I dropped the NRA a note suggesting that under the "picture is worth a thousand words" or more ... that they gave the Brady Bunch and others enough words to last them a long time ...
