I was thinging about purchasing a weatherby. It is a varmintor rifle, with a fiberglass stock and a 26 inch stainless steel fluted barrel.Has any one shot this rifle and how well does it shoot. Dealer wants 1195.00 Just wondering if it is worth the money. Thanks DES

    If it's the newer one with the Krieger barrel it's a good gun. Probably the best varmit guns Weatherby has ever sold. -- If you want one that's just as accurate for alot less money look at the Remington 700 VSSF (varmit-synthetic-stainless-fluted). They are usually 1/2" guns with ammo they like............[8D]. -- Or check out the heavy barrel CZ rifles or the Savage heavy barrels. I've shot them all, and any of these is just as accurate with good ammo but may not look as good in your gun rack..[:D]
