Ok I hope someone can help me here....I was just given a parker 20 gauge side by side shotgun. It has dark wood and it looks like the stock has been replaced. all the metal parts of the gun are trimmed with a fine zig zag engraving. the serial # is 107099 Gramma says it was made in 1902!

Your Gramma is correct!
The grade of the Parker is stamped on the water table with a "letter".
The frame size is stamped on the barrel lug with a number and more often than not a fraction. The barrel weight-less wood and iron-is stamped under the barrels. Also the choke markings are located there
also-usually indicated with a (+) (-), etc. What you describe as zig
zag engraving sounds to me like simple line engraving. Been collecting, shooting and selling Parker's for about forty years. Congrats on the gun. If you want further informaton, mail me through
my profile. 101
Take it to a reliable smith and have it checked out.
The strong original condition of the gun dictates price.
This includes original barrel length, case colors, blue on
barrels, tg, triggers, etc. If the smith declares that it
is safe to shoot-it is your decision. No one will assign
a value without you describing every aspect of your new
treasure. You never gave a grade or stated if it had ejectors
vs. extractors. Single trigger? Splinter or beaver tail?
Skeleton BP or Dog's Head BP? Help us and we can help you.
A Parker is not rare as so many were made. Grade and strong
original condition makes a Parker rare. I am out of here. 101
