Cabello's sells a "no name" that appears to be a good gun, just very basic 45LC. Have seen and handled it, good cylinder line up, matt finish, basic wood, have not fired one.

American Western Arms makes a Cowboy sixshooter as good as the Colt SAA for about on third the price, aroud $400.00 or so.
I have the peacekeeper in .45, and it is a beauty with factory tuned action.
I also have a Ruger Blackhawk that came with 2 cylinders, 45LC and .45ACP. It is a nice gun, but I like the AWA better.

I have a stainless Ruger Vaquero in .45LC and love it. I bought it new in 2001 for $430. They should still only run around $425 - $450 in the box, so why go with a no name?

Ruger for sure. Look around in gun shops and you should be able to find a used blackhawk for less than $300, I just bought a 357 for $150.

1022man nailed it...and did well with his find.!
get a used blackhawk in .357 and shoot .38's as they can be bought the chepest of the sixgun calibers...except .22 of course.
Most gunshows have ammo cans full of reloads pretty reasonable in that caliber.Be sure to clean up any lead buildup in the chambers from shooting the shorter round.

Throckmortons' the alias, cas is the game.

Berretta is now making a gun called the Stampede. Saw one in the local big gun store for $460. About "5 barrel, cased frame and nice looking blueing. I was frankly surprised to see anything with their name on it for that cheap! Looked really, really nice and handled as well as any Colt I ever hefted! Give it a look!
