Hi, The other day when I was in my local gunstore I came across a Riverfield Arms 16 gauge side by side double barrel shotgun for $199.99. This shotgun looked liked someone took good care of it. Can anyone tell me who made them? If there worth anything? How good are they? Thanks!

Stevens... Riverside being one of many trade names. A very good utility gun, but not much of a collector's item. Price is probably fair. Maybe even on the low side if in good condition.

I was just at an auction where an apparently well meaning but misguided gentleman paid $400.00 for a Riverside SS in 12 gauge. The gun was in good condition but I didn't plan to bid more than $250.00. I intended to use it for a trader. The sad part is that now this man will think his shotgun is worth no less than $400.00.
