IS THE MAGNUM RESEARCH BFR 500 S&W "MAG" THE SAME CAL. AS THE 500 S&W
THAT S & W NOW MAKES . NEED A SET OF RELOADING DIES FOR THE BFR AND THE HORNADY DIE'S FOR THE 500 S&W DO NOT SAY 500 S&W "MAG".ARE THEY THE SAME ???

    There's only one 500 S&W, but if you don't feel comfortable ordering the die set, give Hornady a call.

    I CALLED HORNADY AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE 500 S&W CAL.. I WAS CONCERNED WHEN THE CUSTOMER SAID HE HAD A S&W REVOLVER IN
    500 MAG AND HE SHOWED UP WITH A MAGNUM RESEARH BFR AND INSISTING HIS GUN WAS MADE BY S$W ,I WASN'T SURE HE NEW WHAT DIE'S HE NEEDED.

    Oh well takes all kinds ... fella has the $$$ to buy a BFR and don't really know who made the darn thing ... go figure[}:)]

    And this guy wants to reload for the 500 S&W? If he paid that much money for a BFR and thinks it was made by S&W being in general proximity to him in a range with his hand rolled rounds should be quite the experience! I think I would rather see video footage than actually be there!
