Is it a good trade? Series 70 VS Colt LW

Can trade a very nice bright nickel original Government Series 70 45 acp for a mint all correct Commander Lightweight LW series 45 acp circa 1968. Is it an even trade? Is the recoil in the LW[?] Commander severe?

Hi Howard! I haven't seen many catalogs for sale lately! But I saw your bid on a....1950? High prices lately, huh?
Anyway, sounds like a good trade to me if both of you are happy. Prices look comparable.

    Values are about even-steven!

Recoil is no big problem. Just a bit more than a full-size steel 1911.

BTW, a LW Commander has been my carry gun for 30+ years.

For a carry gun, the LW Commander would be my choice. The bright nickel gun will show wear quickly.

If you are a collector, both guns (in good condition) are hard to come by.

The LW will have more recoil than the all steel government model, but it's not objectionable.

    My humble 2.5-cents worth,
    Rafter-S
