I have attempted to put a savage short action stock from a WSM onto my savage short action 223. It wont tighten up correctly. Am I doing something wrong or do I have the wrong stock. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Ignore the moderator, use a hammer.[:p]

Seriously though I've bought some stocks that said they were a sure drop in item but required me to do some work with dremels and sand paper to get things properly shaped.

If you are not sure what you are doing nor do not wish to possibly ruin a stock....buy another one. Eventually you'll find one that will fit without work.

Newer Versions of the Savage M-10 and M-110 with Accu-trigger have different contour to receiver than those with out. If yours is one of these this might be the trouble.
Most aftermarket stocks are made for older versions.
