Rifle Date?

Hi Folks ... In 1950 my G-Grandpa gave me a Remington ... 32 rimfire rifle ... 8 sided barrel ... single shot used ... The serial # is J216386 32 ... Can anyone tell me the manuf date? .... I just got this old gun out after more than 40 years ..... Thanks John[:)]

It would be best if you could post some quality pictures of the rifle, specifically the single shot breech mechanism. Also give us a rundown of all markings on the rifle. Since Remington manufactured single shot rifles in .32 rimfire caliber, between the 1860's and the 1930's we would have to know which model you have to give even a rough estimate of age.
