springfield XD trigger pull

Does anyone have any experience with the springfield armory XD?
I am wondering how heavy is the trigger pull on these new guns?
I am used to the standard 1911 with an external hammer...I would just like to know before I shell out 500.00 .

Its designed to feel like a single action trigger, hence the S/A which is on the pistol. Its not bad, I like it and I'm also used to the single action trigger like you are. Also you may ask to dry fire it while in the store, just make sure you clear it, and point it in a safe direction. You might also be able to find a store/range where you can rent one and try it out.

No experience with the XD45 but I own a XD40 and I like it. Pull isnt bad.

pull is not bad at all, I too love and carry 1911 style 45's. I tried my buddies XD 45 and although the trigger pull is obviously longer than the 1911 it is not stiff at all. It is a great shooter too.

I have an XD9, pull is ok and it's great to shoot. I like it much better than my Glock.

I have an XD45 and the trigger pull/reset is a tad long, but managable. I love the pistol and recommend them to every one

Gun tests magazine just compared it to a S&W M&P and the xd was rated the best buy! Specs show double action pull weight at 6.0 lbs.

I shot my friends but I still liked the tirgger and feel of my Steyr M9 much better. The pull was shorter and smoother.

i have a xd 40 and it shoots great. the trigger takes a little getting used to.also feels strange to a 1911 shooter in that i miss thumbing off the safety on presentation.one thing to remember is that when u pull the trigger it goes bang.no external safety at all!!

I have an XD9 and like the trigger just fine. Its very smooth.

As mentioned, go to a range that rents guns and try one out.
