problems with my super redhawk 454 casull

the cylinder seems to lock up after i fire a couple of times does it in either single on double action i have to actually wiggle the cylinder back and forth alittle to get it to spin to the next round when shooting single i cant even pull back the hammer but about half way same in double the trigger just locks half way back thanks in advance for any help

    are the primers blowing back a fraction of an inch from the spent cartridge thus not letting the cylinder roll around? i had a 44 rem. mag. do that once. it was a combination of brass reloaded too many times and/or too hot of loads.

    I think you may have gotten something down inside the frame and it is stopping the cylinder from rotating. I had the seme thing happen to the 454 I have and I removed the cylinder and found a pice of copper brush that was getting cought and locking up the cylinder. These are easy to get apart, I purchased a book on taking down revolvers and it made the job real easy.

    I also had the same problem as vdms55 with a .357 and +ps" hot loads the cylinder and hammer would not move. After a lot of work pulling the trigger and hammer it would free up, and start functioning again. That pistol has never seen hot loads again.
