German WWII 8MM ammo. Is it worth anything?

I bought a bunch of loose 8MM from a guy that use to shoot an MG34. I bought it to pull the bullets because it has sat for 20 years. I started looking at the HSs and noticed things like DWM 37 and others. All are the same brass, different HS and same 198 bullet and charge.
I also have four 50 round links and my gunsmith thinks I should unload some and make them inert and sell them on eBay.
What do you think? I have no idea because for me ammo is for shooting not collecting so this is out of my area.
I don't want to bother maikng the primers inert and reseating the bullets for show unless it is worth it.
Is it?

I'm convinced fleaBay is P.T. Barnum reaching out from the grave. I've seen some really stupid, junky yard sale stuff bring far more than it would in other venues or should with a rational clientele, but I doubt like heck this would begin to be worth the trouble.
I have to ID the HSs to know but I do not see any SS and this is all nice brass, all military and all German (thirties would indicate it was not from occupied countries, LOL)
I have not counted it but there is maybe 2K rounds or so with about 500 FNM 1961 (Port) and about 100 Turk 154gr nickel copper.
I only bought it to use the heads so anything that happens is OK by me.
I agree what happens on eBay can be stupid but it does not seem to happen when I put something on for sale!
