Remington 1100 magazine feed problems

Thanks for any assistance!
I have been borrowing a friend's 1100 and have been having magazine
feed problems. I have cleaned the gas ports and piston components
(o-rings looked good, did not replace). Fired rounds eject well, the
new rounds don't feed. I noticed that my 870's carrier flips up during cycling of the action. The 1100's carrier does not flip up when I cycle the 1100's action manually.
Standard 2.75, 3 dram, 1.125oz Windchester shotshells are used.
Any ideas where I should check?

Might just be some dirt, crud or a piece of shot in the trigger group. Pull the trigger group and clean well.
Pearyw, I have seen a few that will, with real heavy loads. I've also seen where some fool has drilled out the gas port to cycle 2.75" Trap loads. No problem with that, until that bbl ends up in somebody else's hands, and he decides to unknowingly shoot 3" in it.
spike74, 1100's are picky about being clean, pop the trigger group out and give it a good cleaning. That usually cures about 99% of problems with them. If you find the shell latch bent, broken or worn, let me know, I think I have a new one laying around here somewhere.
