THE PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU WORK THE ACTION WITH A LOADED MAG IT LOADS AND EJECTS PERFECT,BUT WHEN YOU FIRE THE RIFLE IT EJECTS THE EMPTY HULL AND THE ACTION CLOSES BUT IT DOESNT CHAMBER A LIVE ROUND??????????? ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED

Do you have trouble with any magazine? Sounds like a weak spring.

Welcome to the forum...you found the place with much info and nice people (mostly) to share it. However, please turn off the CAPS LOCK as it is more difficult to read--and it comes across as though you're SHOUTING at us.

All the best, and again, WELCOME! [;)][:D]

    Hi,

Sounds like a magazine problem to me.

If you have a spare try it and see if the problem goes away.

I used to have National Match M-14 and had the same problem. I changed mags and the problem disappeared.

    Regards,

I would also suggest a magazine problem at this time. Are they US military surplus or Springfield factory mags? I learned the hard way and won't buy anything else. Could be the gas system plugged, but I'd look into a magazine problem first. I have had my M1A for six years and have had zero problems except with aftermarket mags.

hey thanks for the tips on the mag but there is a screw in front of the forearm that keeps all the gas from running all the way thru so the action cant completly cycle.

Well, you are correct, there shouldn't be anything in that hole. However, I've seen several fellas who used that hole to mount a bipod, & it didn't prevent the action from cycling. (However, it may lead to a cracked stock.)

YOU STILL NEED TO ANSWER OUR QUESTION: What kind of mag are you using?

It would also help if you told us who made your rifle, & what kind of ammo you are using.
