Good Day Forum,
I have a Savage 10FP that loves 168 gr. BTHP loads. The twist rate is 1:10.
Just bought an Armalite AR 10T with a twist rate of 1:11.25. Will the Armalite prefer lesser weight configurations or heavier???
Many Thanks.
John

    justright58,

The rifle will show you the preference for bullet weight and style. It would be impossible to tell you what bullet it will like without shooting some tests. The 1:11.25" twist rate will stabilize bullets up to a length of 1.265" or most bullets up to 190 gr. in weight.

The 10T that I have shoots the Federal Gold Medal Match 168's and 175's superbly but it will also shoot my handloaded Berger 185 gr. VLDs. excellently.

You need to shoot tests to determine what yours will like.

    Best.

it is a slower rate, and those generally prefer lighter, still should be fine w/ 168 BTHP. Try some ballistic tips in 150 or 165 for a good hunting round too!
