Anyone know anything about these CZ 83s? J&G has some for about $240. I like the CZ pistols generally but have not heard much about the little .380. Looks like a neat little shooter.

These are OK little guns. They come in .32acp, .380acp and 9x18Mak. When the ad says the finish is worn, you can believe it. Doesn't mean the gun is a mess. but the appearance will be low. These are accurate, fairly easy shooting guns due to the fixed barrel and relatively heavy weight. I had a CZ82 in the 9x18mak that was very accurate. The same magazine is used for .380 and Mak rounds. The fit and finish is along the lines of many commie guns...rough where rough doesn't matter and fit where fit matters.

My CZ83 gets a good amount of range time. It is a pretty fun gun to plink with. $240 seems a good price for a gun currently available for around $350 new. Just don't expect anything good looking...expect a reliable, competent beater, and you should be happy.

Do not put wood grips on the gun. They break. The original plastic grips are OK, just be careful with solvents. New grips are available for around $12. Take down is easy, (Walther style), but beware pins are known to fall out with grips removed.

Thanks for the info. I may try one. Hoping to see one at the gunshow this weekend.
