I am in need of a hammer spring for a W Richards shotgun and a butt plate. Any ideas where a guy could get either of them?

Thanks,

mike

    First things first...

Your gun is either a Belgian or English utility piece. See the proofs under the barrels. It is likely of damascus-type construction and is not suited to modern loads, or possibly any loads whatsoever.

Having shared the above, I now have to tell you that your gun was made about a century ago and that spare parts have long been unavailable... If they ever were. You might find a donor gun at a show, but it's unlikely they'll interchange without a good bit of effort.

All this on a gun that probably wouldn't bring $150.00 if in 90% condition. It's really not a good plan from an economic standpoint.

If you still want to get it working, Dixie Gun Works may have the spring. Many sidelock doubles have very similar mainsprings that can be modified to fit.
It used to be that you could send them old parts to match up. Note that right and left lock parts are mirror images and wont interchange.
