What is the going price on a yugo sks?

Now the really good question.

Is the Barrel long enough on the Yugo to cut that flash hider off?

I know the good and bad points of chopping it, I just do not care for the look and would want to take it off. [:D]

For the effort of taking it off, you could get a plain Yugo 59 without the flash hider. But yes, the barrel is long enough.

Price? You might find one for under $100 yet, but odds are you're looking at $125, give or take. $150 isn't out of question.

According to my local dealer, new wholesale prices on the Yugos are up there - just over $200.

Yes, wholesaler's inventory is getting thin, prices are going up.
Going up kinda fast right now, but I have to believe it will level out soon....similar to previous 'shortages'.

The ' reason du jour ' I hear is joining of NATO means no more shipments to the US . Hmm...a little hard to swallow.

Supply and Demand seems to fit the bill though.

Long story short, I have a yugo sks in my safe that has been butchered. Grenade laucher was cut off and is in a jagged unfinished condition. The grenade sight was cutoff. Front sight has been painted neon green. The wood stock was refinished horribly, the bayonet groove and cleaning kit hole in the stock were both filled in with what looks to be crack sealer expanding epoxy.

This gun was in 100% condition with all matching #'s and a beutiful blonde stock when I 1st sold it to a former friend. The former friend returned the gun to me in the abover butchered, bubba'd condition after I caught him steeling from me.

I might have to throw this one on auction side. If your interested in a project let me know.

    Drobs !
    A 'podnuh' stealing from you...I can't go there...but...
Forget about what the gun WAS like, as bad as it has been butchered.
It sounds like you've just been given a 'project gun' that you can't mess up !
A great chance to re-crown something.. maybe a couple of times.
The stock may be salvaged....it will never be like it was, but it can be made to work in some fashion, even if you toss it in the end.

Drill/tap anything last month ? Silver solder lately ?

Still can't face it ....put it up for cheap.

probably 15-200 for an unissued one. Make sure you get one thats never been used. They do have somethat are like 100 but have been shot a million times. I have one and have not cut off the launcher peice. Just dont waste money on high CAP MAGS or a bunch of crazy stuff, a lot of it doesnt work on it. On mine I jewled the bolt and redid the stock it looks really nice. Check back Ill see if i can find some photots.

Yeah, it's in the far back of the safe waiting to be cleaned up.

This was a "Friend" that I'd known since Jr. High. Hadn't seen him in a few years. He started hanging out watching me build AK's for couple weekends in a row. I sold him this gun and traded a couple other guns with him.

Then I noticed one of my handguns was missing right after he left. Searched all over the house and then called him and said I was going to have to report the missing gun to the police and give them his name. He came over to "help me find it" and he manned up to it and handed it over. I got the butchered SKS back as an apology and an agreement to part ways. I'll have to post some pics of it Monday.
