remington mod 11 12 Ga barrel

I recently bought a barrel for what I thought was a remington model 11. I sent the barrel to a friend of mine and he said that it would not fit. I now wonder if he has a remington sportsman model and if there is any difference in the barrels between the mod 11 and the sportsman. The guns are both built on the browning auto 5 patient.

The Rem 11-48 and the Sportsman 48 most are interchangeable, if not all. It might not be what you have
