Dovetail slot sizes question

I want to replace the (in poor condition) receiver sight on my old Stevens Model 66 w/a barrel mounted open rear sight. However the dovetail slot, which currently has a blank in it, is smaller than the standard 3/8 size. The front sight is 3/8.
Does anyone know what smaller size Stevens used?

    I'm sure you'll get a more direct response, but if not you could always knock out the filler and measure it. should come out left to right.

    I don't have a soft metal (brass) punch yet. They have them in the Harbor Freight catalog, but I'm waiting until I go to the city to buy one and save shipping costs which double the price.
    Was hoping to order a sight before then.
