I have a General Motors M1 carbine with a broken stock. Any suggestions as to where I can get a stock?

They are the most commonly found of all the carbine stocks. You should be able to find one at almost any large gun show.

First, you have to figure out what KIND of carbine you have; there is no such thing as a "General Motors" carbine. You may have an "Inland" or a "Saginaw"; both GM divisions were prime contractors.

If your carbine is all original, then you will want to find a "correct" stock; that will be very expensive & very difficult, but check the auctions.

Otherwise, any USGI or commercial stock will be OK. But, be prepared for stick shock. Everything I see at gun shows & online auctions is either overpriced junk, or WAY overpriced good stuff. The problem is, supplies have dried up, primarily because of the Clinton/Bush ban on imports.

CMP has them for under $100. Go to www.odcmp.com and check their sales. You can order a new, walnut, unfinished mil-spec stock via the internet or mail.
