I picked up a "Baikal" 9mm pistol but don't know much about it. I took it for trade for some services owed to me. I have two clips with it. It says "K.B.I." then just below it says "ING.HBG.PA." Can anyone tell me about it? Can I shoot regular 9mm ammo out of it or does it take a certain size? I was owed $100...did I get a good deal?

No idea what a 'baikal' is, but
    K.B.I.
    ING.HBG.PA
is an importer mark naming the company (and the city its based in) that brought that firearm into the country.

9mm Makarov is the name for the 9x18 round and is common for Russian and east Europe pistols, 'regular' 9mm luger is 9x19 (ie the case and overall length is a little longer, I also think there is a Slight difference in diameters).
You shouldn't have any problems finding 'makarov' ammo, I even think my local walmart stocks it!

Your pistol was made in Russia. It's chambered for a special Russian designed 9mm cartridge. " K.B.I." is the name of the U.S. importer/distributor of the pistol. If the pistol is in Very Good or better condition you got a good deal.

Ok, but is 'baikal' a pistol model? or just a manufacturer? If the latter, what do they make? Do you know where more info about them can be found?[?]
