Remington 760

I am considering purchasing an used Remington Model 760 in .30-06. Have you had experience with this rifle? Anything is particular that I should watch out for in or anything that I should know about this model?

    I just bought one at a really good price, my gun book says that the "zz" stamp means it was made in "53". Can anyone tell me of any problems with this model? I've already had mag/clip problems that I think I fixed by adjusting the mag/clips. Can anyone give me some info? is there anywhere I can buy or copy a manual?

    I have two 760's and I'm thinking about selling one. One is in 6mm Remington, the other is a 760 Carbine in 308. Assuming they're in the same condition (very good+), which would probably bring the higher price? Thanks for any input.

    Good woods rifle. Not the most accurate (1 1/2 @100)but shoots deer minute of angle. Very dependable.

    I bought one about 1965 when I lived in Mich. It is a very dependable rifle. I got about 1in. groups with my handloads. The prices I see them going for are reasonable. If you buy one and it rattles, there is a O-ring on the tube under the forend that is worn out and needs replaced.

    I have a Rem 760 in 223 that will shoot 5 shots into 1/2 inch at 100yds. These are handloads but you can handload too and make that Rem 760 is a great shooter too.
