My thread is now a "locked topic". Why?

I went to respond to the nice fellows who took the time to respond to my topic about recycling or reloading spent brass, and lo and behold, the topic is locked. Is this something I did? Was it something I said? [:I]

Can it be unlocked? Do I have a set amount of time to respond before a thread is locked down? I don't think so because I have an older thread with fewer responders and it is still active.

Did I miss something I the posting guidelines?

You did nothing wrong. As a rule, all topics on the Experts forum are locked after (10) replies (please look back through the last several pages and you will see that). The rationale is that most topics can be adequately answered within that number of replies, and that the Experts forum is not intended to be a "general" discussion forum (we have one of those already). If you do not feel that your topic was adequately answered, then simply start a new topic with the same title.

Our moderators will usually lock posts after 10 responses. To cut off the hot air merchants. If a question isn't answered in 10 responses, it's not likely to be answered at all. Nothing personal in this. Your question is put forward by lot of folks.
