Are 5.45x39 recoil springs the same as 7.62x39 recoil springs?

OK anyone know where I can find a new one? I'd prefer an after market one.

I looked on Wolf Springs website, they only list a recoil spring for the AK-47. May want to give them a call and see what they can advise you.

Unless you can get a spring from say Armory USA or Krebs Custom, I think everything is going to be used.

I would bet that a 5.56 and a 5.45 AK use the same spring though and that might be another thing to look for.

    Maybe try K-Var.com

    You can try calling K-Var

They are showing 2 "spring only pieces" for sale and 4 AK spring assemblies , 1 which actually has AK 74 5.45 listed in the description.

A phone call may help you out.

i think the spring is the same,... the only diffrence is the part that slips into the rear trunnion/tang and holds the dust cover secure is a diffrent size/ shape between the two calibers.

i have not noticed a diffrence in the 5.45, 5.56, or 7.62x39 springs,. the spring for the 7.62x54R PSL is longer though
