best powder for 45 auto

What is the best load for the 45 auto with 230 gr ball bullets...unique?

it works but kinda dirty, but nothing a good cleaning wont fix, witch you should always do.

I have loaded .45 ACP with this and that but keep coming back to W231... or HP38 which comes off the same production line.

I really like 6.0 of Unique but must admit that 231 does burn a lot cleaner. If shooting outdoors there is no real advantage of one over the other.

I've got my best groups with 231 and 800X powders. Also found PB not bad.

I shoot it out of my ACP revolvers, but HS7 and Blue Dot have beaten everything else for accuracy for me.

I use Hodgdon clays, 3.9 gr and a 230 round nose rainier.

I read somewhere that the military load used thru WW2 was ? grains of Bullseye. I use Bullseye all the time but load lighter than the military loading.

I have just switched to Hodgdon Titegroup, 4.8 grains with a 230 FMJ and I am very happy with the powder. I used to use W231 but at $19.99 a pound, kind of pricey, my local dealer sells the Titegroup for $13.99 a pound.

I load with Titegroup,Unique,Power Pistol.Prefer Power Pistol over the others.
