I'm looking for information on a double barrel shotgun that has the following numbers on it; 13241 & 12-70 & 126. It also has a duck in flight with a long gun thru the duck and ECHASA-EIBAR on it. It says made in Spain. I've looked thru my gun books and searched the internet but can't locate any info on mfg or current value. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
danlee

Hello can't help with most of your question but 12-70 is 12gage 70 MM or 2&3/4 inch chambers.

Eibar is a region in Spain where a lot of guns are made, such as AyA. Many high quality but low quality too. Lots of different names come and go. Google Echasa you'll probably find something there or try search above on forums.

'echasa' was a name used by 'echase y arizmendi' (laterknown as echase, arizmendi y cia sa. they started about 1911 manufacturing revolvers and semi-automatic pistols usually copies of other companies designs. more is know about their handguns than their shotguns as not many of them made it over here. they were one of the better spanish manufacturers and one of only three that made it through the spanish civil war (guess who's side they were on). they actually were still manufacting handguns and possibly shotgun in the 1960's some with the french company MAB on them. i am not sure of the exact date they went out of business but one book states 1970. there are two book that have a lot of information on spanish manufacturers the early revised edition of "pistols of the world" by hogg & weeks and 'spanish handguns' by gene gangarosa jr. and i do not know of any on spanish shotguns (maybe someday one will be published).
