I RECENTLY PURCHASED A BROWNING BLR IN 243 CAL. I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING 3 ROUND GROUPS AND CANT SEEM TO GET THEM CLOSER THAN A 6 INCH SPREAD. THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE BURRIS 3X9X50 SCOPE SO I REPLACED IT WITH A NIKON. STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE CHEAP AMMO SO I TRIED ANOTHER BRAND (FUSION) STILL NOT WORKING. THEN I WENT TO A LEUPOLD SCOPE, THEN ANOTHER LEUPOLD SCOPE, EVEN CHANGED MY RINGS AND BASES AND STILL CAN NOT GET THEM IN THERE. FIRST ITS UP, DONT CHANGE ANYTHING AND THEN ITS LEFT, AND RIGHT , AND DOWN AND UP AND SO ON. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME TIPS OR IS MY GUN JUST A PIECE OF S*^%T. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS FROM GETTING THE BARREL HOT, BUT WAS TOLD NO.

It ought to shoot better than that, though lever guns aren't known for being tack drivers. Look at your fired brass for lumps and other signs of loose chamber. Look closely at the crown on the barrel it could be bad/damaged. You should clean the bore really good to remove copper fouling as some new barrels are rough and need shot in.
First round from an oiled bore always goes high for me so don't count that one. Make sure bullet weight is correct for the twist rate in the rifle. Let rifle cool between shots with bolt open. Don't adjust the scope until the group size shrinks. Make sure you hold/support the rifle the same for every shot.

Forearm tightness has an affect on the accuracy of the BLR. Try loosening or tightening the forearm. One or the other should tighten the groups a bit. The BLR never was known for tackdriving accuracy, but is good enough for hunting.

Also check muzzle for nicks or other damage. Have another shooter try it as well. A good BLR should be able to do at least 2 MOA.

sounds like crown damage or a bad case of copper fouling in the bbl use a good solvent and brush out the bbl a few times.
