Just curious - I have a S&W 629 and just got a Taurus Not sure the the model. My Smith is stainless but the Taurus is Chrome, They both have ported barrels. I haven't made it out to shoot either one yet but was wanting to hear the +an- from this forum. Both are very clean. The Taurus has the bridged. They both are the same size 8". Thanks for any help. The only writing is an PH before the #s' Not Raging Bull but is a 6 shot and both are ported..

Would that be a "vent rib" atop the barrel, or what do you consider a "bridged"?
Taurus afaik, doesn't make a "chrome" gun anymore; they are stainless or blue unless they are titanium.
I think you will find that the S&W is every bit as good a gun as the Taurus.

My Taurus M44 is very accurate with 240gr Oregon Trail lead and 11gr Unique - being ported, it is nice to shoot.

Yes I mean vent rib but this one is chrome, when did chroming quit with Taurus on this pistol? It says Taurus-Brasil on left side and 44 MAGNUM on the right side and has the letters PH before serial #. I'm not familiar with the Taurus manufacturer at all. A friend sold me this because he knows how I like twins when it comes to pistols and it looks alot like my 629, I told him these are Fraternal twins lol. Thanks for any help in understanding what I own (Taurus) Always appreciate the knowledge that is offered.. Thanks Mike
