I saw a Custom Built 22-250 on a Mauser action. It has a blued very thick heavy barrel. The bolt is chrome. Stock is wood with a thumb hole stock. Scope is a 6X25X 50 Eagle eye optic. What would be the approximate value?

    SCPO RICE,

There are lots of 'custom' Mausers out there and most of them have been cobbled together by amateurs which reduces the potential value of the rifle. No matter how much the parts cost or the time involved in assembling those parts, the rifle was built by an amateur and has less value than if it had been built by a known professional gunsmith.

It's impossible to say without having significantly more information and some good photos. The first piece of information to get us started is which Mauser action was used to make this 'custom' rifle? There are marks all over Mausers to help you figure this out or relay those marks to us to help you. The other questions I would ask are the same as JustC's. The throat in the barrel will tell the tale of how hard the rifle was used and may influence the price also.

The brand name on the scope doesn't ring any bells with me so it may be an off-brand.

Post some more information and let's see what we can find out.

    Best.
