Are the dovetails the same on the sako 75 as the earlier 3 digit numbered and the A series? Leupold specialist did not know...

Far as I know, a Sako dovetail is a Sako dovetail; except on the TRG-22.

Check in with the folks at Sako Collectors Club. A great source of info for all things Sako.

They are not the same. The 3 didgit series and the A series used the original dovetail dating back to the 1940s. Sako then changed to the system known as "optilock".

    Yes....they're the same.

Opti Lock is a great self centering ring design which is as strong as lapping, and in some case even stronger. The very smart mount design has many more fit choices to accomadte both shooter and scope sizes.
