I have a Herters O/U 12 ga. with a light bulge in the bottom barrel. Can it be tapped out with a brass hammer? Perhaps not worth the trouble? Thanks....

A dent into the bore can usually be fixed, a bulge out from the bore is a whole different story.

You'll need a mandrell that just fits the bore, without oil. A short piece is best, easier to get in.Position under bulge and tap lightly, very lightly with a brass hammer until it is gone. You will not want to shoot anything but the lightest loads after.Use the smallest hammer you can find.
