Very old Marlin 30-30

I recently came in possession of an old Marlin 30-30.
The serial # is 237544 It has a W.F.Sheard (Tacoma, Washington) sight
It has Special Smokeless Steel engraved on the octagon barrel. It has 3 dates on the barrel Oct. 11 1887, April 8 1889, August 1 1893, Does anyone know what its approximate value is?? Or how old this gun is? I am never going to sell it I am just curious.[/font=Tahoma]
