I'm looking for a good 1911 to throw rounds down range and enjoy. there are so many out there now that any info would be appriciated. thanks

Are parts such as barrels interchangable with colt parts?

    FYI

    Maybe I'm wrong but didn't Taurus make the 1911 (PT1911)in 38 Super?
I called Taurus Friday and was told the 1911 was NEVER made in 38 super and they had plans to discontinue the 38 super (PT38)altogether.
I would think collectors would want to know if true.

Has any one tried out the new Taurus 1911? It sounds like a lot of pistol with all the mods and at a fair price new.

Great 1911 for the money. I have had mine for about a year. I paid $465 for mine. $529 is about average price.

I have a taurus PT92 that I bought new in 1986, and I have had no problems and no failure of any kind. I am hoping that the 1911 will be the same quality.

Good price and it should be a fine pistol.

I have a Taurus 1911 and a Kimber Custom TargetII. The fit and finish on the Kimber may be better, but the Taurus is every bit as accurate and has been proven to be just as reliable. Is the difference worth $250? I don't think so. You won't be dissapointed with the Taurus.[^][:)]

I've owned the taurus 1911 for almost a year, first time out rear sight loosened up in about 20 rounds, tightened, 10 rounds later rear sight loose again took home a little "lock tite" problem solved, shoots straight, feeds great, only two or three ejection problems in the first 100 rounds, smooth sailing since, over 1500 rounds.

    $250?

Either you paid way too much for the Taurus or got one sweet deal on the Kimber.

Cubslover, paid $679 for the Kimber and $432 for the Taurus. I'm a tight-wad for the most part, so got a good deal on both.[8D]
