I just purchased a Santa Fe 1903A3 30-06 rifle Model#5002976 with RA 12-43 on the tip of the barrel. I was wondering where I might find more information on this rifle.

GSA was an importer and builder of sporting arms made from mil surp guns. Thet had models that were made off Mauser actions, Enfields and as you know, '03's. Generally they were not known for thier great aesthetics, but they were generally excellent workmanlike guns. I used to have an Enfield #4 sporter made by them that eventually, with hand loading was capable of well under MOA. It had a 2 groove barrel and was anything but pretty, but man did it shoot. I sold it to get a MArlin 1895 Guide gun and at least have never regretted the decision since the Marlin is great and shhots at least as well. You likely did good as long as you paid less than $300 for it, and it performs, of course!

It was assembled from surplus military parts and after market receivers, by/for Golden State Arms. They were located in Pasadena CA. The time frame would be the mid 1960's. This would be just prior to GSA, going out of business.

Because it's not a original 1903A3 made for the U.S. military. There is little collectors demand/value for it.
