Pros? Cons? My roommate is considering one so he can have one gun for everything. This would be for white tail hunting in IA, and he is too much a of a wussy for him to borrow my 454 Casull.

Has anybody got any expierence with the mossberg 500 muzzleloader barrel? Is it an inline type? Does it use the 209 primer? I have a 500 and was thinking of getting this barrel for it. Does it shoot good? I am looking for any information anybody has. Thanks

    That's pretty funny.[:D]

On the Mossberg Barrel, I have not really heard anything good about them. I have heard some bad things about them. Therefore, I would recommend that he use his money to purchase one of the inexpensive inline muzzleloaders on the market. CVA and Traditions both have models that will only cost a little more than a barrel for a 500 but will perform much better.

Have not heard much as well but thought about it really hard. Seems like a good idea.

I've looked at them for my brother in law. I think they are to much trouble. I think the money would be better spent on a new muzzle loader. There are some very reasonable in line and break open action models that can be bought for about the same money.

As for the 454. I have a few family members and buddies that won't shoot mine any more. I think I will shoot one this year with it just so I can ride them for another year. LOL

    My opinion..........Scout

Thanks, I would just give him the gun with some 45 Colts in it, but he isnt that good of a shot with a pistol. Maybe I will have him get a slug barrel and a red dot.
