Model 70 pre-64 in 240 PSP

I have a Winchester Model 70 with serial number 385xxx which I believe is from the mid 1950s. The problem is it in an odd caliber: 240 PSP (Page Souper Pooper). I can find little or no information on this gun. Is there a way I can convert it to some useful caliber so that I could use it, such as a 25-06, or should I just go ahead and sell it on gunbroker.com?

Back then Winchester did't have short actions. If it was made from a 243 you may have to remove the bolt stop to get enough travel for the 25-06.
If it has the original barrel you could check the original caliber by taking off the stock and looking on the bottom of the barrel just in front of the receiver. Should have caliber and year stamped there.
If I can locate reference material I will post here again with more i nformation. I don't think I would sell it unless you get a rather nice price for it as pre-64 actions are worth a few bucks.
pg 310 .240 Page Pooper was based on 7.62 Nato with considerably sharper shoulder as opposed to retaining the origional angle thus the .243 Win. BTW the Pooper was a poke at the .25 Souper and the name stuck. Loading data same as .243W.
pg 314 .240 Page Super Pooper this cartridge can be best described as an improved .244 Rem. This case holds up to 10% more powder than the standard .244R. Has loading data for 75, 90 and 105 gr bullets.
I'll bet that RCBS has loading dies in stock for both. If it was me I shoot this bbl out before screwing in a new one.
Believe it or not, it shoots those handloads just as accurately as it does the real thing. +/- 1 moa.
RCBS does have dies available, but they are expensive.
Was $109.00 in 2002.
Love that gun.
I have the reloading dies, but I'm not a reloader and I have no brass anyway. The gun and dies were a gift from my ex-father-in-law.
Do you think it would be expensive to convert it to 25-06?
