Beretta 1935 firing pin removal?

I have a Beretta model 1935 (same as the 1934 only in .32). The firing pin will not retract all the way; it is protruding and causes failures to feed and the occasional slam fire. I don't know if it is a problem of gunk in the firing pin channel, a weak spring, a burr, or simply an overly long pin. I need to get in there and find out.

Question- how on earth do you remove the firing pin?

Drift out the pin on the slide, carefully. As it retains both the firing pin and extractor.

I thought that might be it. Darn, now I have to buy a smaller punch. [:D]

Update. I bought the punch. No problems. No gunk rust or burrs, just an overly long pin. I filed it down a tad, seems to be the cat's meow now, will test tomorrow afternoon.

The cases were catching on the lip of the firing pin and jamming you see.....won't happen now though!
