Which is better for the money

If I were to buy a 22 magnum bolt action, which manufacturer would be better, a Marlin, a Savage or a CZ, for the money you pay?

Any of the above. I like the CZ for the wood, I like the Savage for the trigger and price, I like the Marlin from personal experience. I really don't think that you can go wrong with any of them.

CZ is very nice in the fit and finish department with good accuracy. The Savage will be probably uglier but have better trigger and shoot more accurate. Marlin will be overall nice, but less accurate than the Savage. All will serve well. Hold them all if possible, otherwise pick the one you like the best.

    5mm,
I've had a Ruger 77-22mag since they were first offered, 10-15 years, I've shot alot of small critters with it and every once in a while a yote, if it,s inside of 100yds. It's been a good, accutate rifle, and because of the advancements in bullet tech and hotter loadings, it just keeps getting better. For what it's worth.

I have only shot the marlins. Nice shooting rifles at a fair price. You cant go wrong with the marlin.

I think they are all good in a rimfire. I have shot all three and I would pick the CZ. The CZ 453 has a single set trigger and is pretty nice. The other CZ triggers are adjustable.

Don't under estimate that trigger on the CZ. They are adjustable, and if you opt to go with the new 453, and not the 452, they have single set triggers. I have one in 17HMR, and it is incredible. Yes, more money than either the Savage, or Marlin, but it is in a different class too. The old saying holds true, that you get what you pay for. The CZ is my choice.

The savage and CZ are both great rifles. I personally prefer the savage due to the accutrigger, the CZ triggers are nice but they just don't "talk back" like the Savage.

if you get a ruger 77/22 mag.,you can get a ruger factory 17hmr barrel and switch calibures at will, magizines are the same, and there is nothing else to buy. i have a ruger set up like that and am totally satisfied. mine happens to be a SS heavy barreled laminated stock. eastbank.

Thanks for everyone's advice. Sounds like I can't go wrong with any of the three, but since I am only going to get one, I think I will go with the Savage. Thanks.
