tracer ammo

Would firing a steady diet of tracer ammo be hard on barrel life? Don't really shoot that many tracers through my AR, just wondering.
Thanks in advance.

In my experience I have never had any sign of extra wear or what not between my two AR's when it comes to tracers. I have one that has never had a tracer round fired through it and the other, well I lost count somewhere after about 8000 of them. But I won't say that it will not effect the barrel life because I am very particular when it comes to cleaning and maintanence.

They are no different then any other ammo. The tracer does not burn until it is well out of your BBL.

Only if you use Tracers made in Eastern Europe and Asia like India, there tracers have more Barium in them and make your bbl brittle unless you have a chrome molly one.
