Starting a new thread so as to not lock the other one. And for the moderators, sorry, I know it's not an "experts" topic, but wanted to answer Spider.

I picked up the refinished model 1888 here on GunBroker. I didn't make it down to the Hampton show, and not able to make it to the Chantilly show this weekend either [V]

Here are a couple of pics of it. I've shot it quite a bit now, and it is a fine shooter.

And just for good measure, here is one of my other ones that is almost mint condition....without being refinished [:D] And yes, it is the original sling.

Very nice. I always loved those old trapdoors - I once had 35 of them and didn't pay over $50 for one (Unfired!). Most of them were in the $25-$30 range. Those were the "good old days" and wish I had kept them. I can't believe the prices they bring now.

I've never been to the Chantilly show but always went to the Hampton Show. Unfortunately, it's always the same old sellers with the same old stuff in the same old place. I recently relocated to Upstate New York so maybe I'll get to see some different stuff at the Albany show.

    Thanks for sharing!

Very nice indeed, DC. I get excited when I see case color like that!
