I am doing some research for an elderly friend who has interited an over/under with the marking 754. It is 16-gauge rifle with 6.5x57R ammunition and telescope. He would like to know more about the rifle, history, value and perhaps the best way to sell it. Thanks for any help you can give.

Pictures would help a lot. Heym was located in several places, moving to West Germany after the war. With the reunification of German they are back near where they started in Suhl. Is there an address on the gun?

The German hunter liked Combo guns Drillings , Cape Guns, As well as Verllings, "spelling" this was one rifle one shot barrel two shot and one rifle or 2 rifle and one shot or 2 rifles of different caliber and 2shot barrels. IF you look at this site under drillings and Combo/cape guns you will see many examples. one problem is many of these guns were made for Cartridges that have long been out of production . also there is a very wide range in value some in the $500.00 range and others in the $20,000.00 range the HEYM for most part were low to medium value guns . DETAIL in focus pictures are a must to give any idea of value.
