I am looking for a gunsmith who restores or has restored Kentucky rifles or similiar guns and lives in Michigan. I live in the U P near Sault Ste Marie and made frequent trips to Lansing and the Detroit Area. Thanks Roger

I recently bought a Kentucky Rifle that was found in a wall of a house that was being a torn down.(it does happen) It is dirty and the brass is lightly tarnished. The trigger guard is missing, as is the ramrod, and bolt that holds the lock together. The lock does not work and the barrel is rusty color. I don't want to take away the value of the gun, but would like to have it have a nice presentation look to it..any help of what, how much, etc. would be great..... thanks Roger

Also, the maker's name on the barrel appears to be, L M ???m?y, the first letter of the last name maybe E?....

Go to: <AmericanLongrifles> A non commercial site where you'll get the best of the best.

Admin: I sent a personal mail to you about the removal of the site I suggested. Your removal is much the same as removing the encyclopedia from a library. Be kind enough to visit ALR site and see for yourself. Our sole purpose is education and we are of no threat to GunBroker whatsoever.

Please understand that antique long rifles are a totally different subject than generally addressed here at GB. When dealing with a piece of folk art which could potentially be of considerable value I believe it best to consult with those who know the subject.

Should you have questions about me I'd suggest a quick call to Bert Hartman. He should be able to set the record straight.

Two other sites are N M L R A National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association
and the Contemporary Long-Rifle Association. Please get two or more references before sending or taking the gun to anybody. There may be someone within driving distance to you BUT I suspect most true craftsmen
will be nearer the East Coast of the U.S.
